Municipal Election 2020 Candidate Information


Ward I

  • Glenn LaVenture

Glenn has called Byrnes Mill his home for 20 years, sitting on his subdivision’s Homeowners Association Board since the early 2000’s.  Serving the City since 2005, beginning with the Planning and Zoning Commission, Glenn is seeking re-election as Alderperson for Ward I.  With a background in corporate facilities management, Glenn brings his expertise in building construction and property acquisition to the City in the hopes of helping the community develop and prosper.

  • Terry Keehn

A resident for over 10 years, Terry was appointed as Ward I Alderperson in October 2019 to fill the remainder of Bob Prado’s term.  With a background in the electrical and construction fields, Terry is also an accomplished musician.  With a commitment to serving and a desire to see the City continue in its current positive direction, Terry is seeking election as Alderperson for Ward I to complete the remaining year of the previous term.

Ward II

  • Cynthia Davies

Having moved to the area before the City was incorporated, Cynthia’s family has a long history of serving the community.  Her husband Ron previously served for the Board of Alderpersons upon its incorporation, and Cynthia was asked to join to complete another member’s term and has been an elected official ever since.  Cynthia is seeking re-election as Alderperson for Ward II.

  • Bob Mahlandt

Bob and his wife Cathie, who have been married for 47 years, have been residents of the city since 2004.  He has over 30 years’ experience as a Company Official for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and five years as a Director for the Public Water Supply District #2 board.  With a background in budgeting and management, Bob plans to use his knowledge and skills as a businessman to bring long-term stability and improvements to the community.  Bob is seeking election as Alderperson for Ward II.

Ward III

  • Jason Matthews

Since moving to Byrnes Mill in 2013, Jason has taken an interest in his local government which led to him being appointed in 2018 to fill a vacancy for Ward III, and was elected in 2019 to finish out the remaining year of the prior term.  Jason is seeking re-election as Alderperson for Ward III for a full two-year term.
