Paul Konopacki capured this photo of some Byrnes Mill police who were very helpful and much appreciated for keeping traffic safe and parking easy. Thanks, guys!
Also, Paul used the Byrnes Mill Forum to send the following (edited a bit): "I live on Sunrise Drive off of Highway FF. Elaine saw the notice for the event and we decided it would be fun to listen to some live bluegrass. We have friends who regularly participate in the 'open mic' bluegrass events every Monday evening in the area, but we didn't see them tonight. "This is a well hidden park. I had forgotten there had been no easy junction between the two halves of the park. I haven't been to it in about a year -- and that was to find some geocaches that were placed in it. Being a amateur videographer, I decided to bring my Canon PowerShot S5 to the event. Below are links to still images and a short video consisting of a few clips from the performance of the Ozark Bluegrass Boys."

First-ever concert coming to Byrnes Mill City Park By Kevin Carbery of the Jefferson County Journal The Ozark Blue Grass Boys will perform at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Byrnes Mill City Park. Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. and the event is scheduled to run until 8:30 p.m. Byrnes Mill City Park (map below) will be the site of activities, food and music Saturday, Sept. 6, organizers promise. That day, the Byrnes Mill Improvement Committee (BIC) is sponsoring a concert in the park by the Ozark Blue Grass Boys, with fun and games offered before the band starts playing. "It's the first-ever concert in the park event," BIC member Robin Mueller said. "It will be a great family event. There will be kids' games and food available. And, the timing is nice, 4:30 to 8:30. You can get your kids home at a good time." The concert is scheduled to run from 6-8:30 p.m. The games and concessions will open at 4:30 p.m. Mary Scheble, chair of BIC, said there should be plenty to interest people of all ages, including those who live outside of Byrnes Mill. "We'll have 50-50 raffles, children's games, face painting and concessions," Scheble said. "We invite people to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on for the concert. "It's not just for Byrnes Mill residents. We've had people volunteer to help with it from High Ridge and House Springs. It's a community activity." BIC is a community support organization that was active years ago, went dormant in the mid 1990s, then has been brought back to life this year. "This is our first big event," Scheble said. "We plan to have more in the future." Scheble and Mueller said the Ozark Blue Grass Boys are a fan favorite in the region.
"I've seen them play," Scheble said. "They're pretty popular in the area. A lot of people know them. It's a real good show, a lot of fun." While everything is in place for the event, BIC members are concerned about one factor they cannot control. "We just hope for good weather," Scheble said. "We're just keeping our fingers crossed for good weather." The issue of where to park has been considered and plans have been put in place, Byrnes Mill Police Chief Ed Locke said. "There will be people there to help show people where to park," the chief said. "We're looking forward to having a concert event and welcoming people from the surrounding communities to see what Byrnes Mill has to offer."
